Warranty Terms

METAVISIO COMPUTING INDIA PVT LTD formulates THOMSON’s product warranty policy, according to which you could return, replace, or repair the products. Customer can connect the customer care via Toll Free – 1800 123 989855  or email us at Support.India@thomsonpc.com

Warranty services (LAPTOP)

1.  Scope of Warranty Service

  • DOA/Return/Replacement Period –
    1. Within 7 days from the date of purchase, if any manufacturing defect is noticed or any hardware problem occurs on the product, you can choose to return/replace the product at one time based on the actual invoice price.
    2. Product purchased through E-commerce platform (Online), you can return the product within 07 days or as per Online platform policy from the day when the product is received, if any manufacturing defect is noticed or any hardware problem occurs of the product, based on other terms and conditions of Online Sale Platform. Only in a condition when the product is not used, and all the supplied products/accessories/BOX are in perfect condition.
  • DOA/Return/Replacement Guide
    1. THOMSON authorised service center will issue DOA certificate to the end customer after validation of the product.
    2. Problems related to manufacturing defects in the hardware will only be considered for DOA.
    3. In case product purchase from retail store/ dealer the DOA certificate or replacement will be issued to the customer by respective retailer/dealer, after validation of the product by the service center.
    4. For the product purchased from the online store, please apply for return/replacement according to the policy of E-commerce partner.
    5. Always take back up and delete your personal data before submitting your device for
    6. It is always recommended that you go through the below list before applying for DOA/ return/ replacement:

The Product and Accessories must be complete as supplied in original. The Box package must not be tampered.  Original Purchase Invoice is required. Any other supplied Accessories, offer (If applicable)

 

2.  Warranty services

  • Limited Warranty Period (Laptops):
    1. The warranty defined for laptop is 12 months from the actual date of purchase by the customer, the warranty for battery and adapter supplied along with the original laptop also stands for 12 months.
    2. The warranty of the product will only be considered from the date of Purchase of the product through a valid original invoice from authorised seller of the company.
    3. In case customer is unable to provide a valid invoice then the warranty start date will be considered from 90 days of manufacturing date of the product as per company database or mentioned on the box.
    4. The accessories replaced in the warranty period, will be considered for warranty as per remaining warranty of the product.

 

Warranty of 06 months applicable on Supplied Accessory by OEM like Cable, Headphone. (No

Warranty for any Bundled Gift supplied by any Sales Channel)

  1. Any kind of Repair Services on the Laptops will be provided at Authorised Service Centers only.
  2. Customer can opt for postal/courier services to get their device repaired or can Walkin to the nearest Service centre at their own cost.
  3. Customer is responsible to take back of of their personal data before submitting the device for repairs to the Service Centers.
  4. Customer must carry the Original Invoice while submitting the device for repairs.
  • Repair Terms and Condition
    1. Warranty period for parts replaced/repaired in a laptop including accessories (Battery, Adapter and Power cord) is applicable for limited 90-days warranty period.
    2. Customer can get all the guidelines and scope of limited warranty process by Authorized Service Center staff.
  • Out of warranty Scope (Laptop accessories).
    1. The warranty of the product is valid and applicable in India where the product is purchased by the customer, the product sold in India is not eligible for any international warranty service unless specified.
    2. Below damages are not covered under warranty:
      • Normal wear and tear of the product or for the cosmetic parts.
      • Use of product other than Normal use or other than user guidelines causing any damage is not covered.
      • Any kind of unauthorized disassembly, repair, alteration, or modification being carried out will not be considered.
      • Any kind of misuse, abuse, negligence, or accident caused to the product is not considered under warrant.
      • Self maintenance, Improper testing, operation, installation, or any alternation or modification of the product;
      • Spillage of food or liquid, corrosion, rust or the use of wrong voltage;
      • Any undue over Charging, accident or negligible use;
      • Natural calamity like typhoon, flood, earthquake and situation like War and Fire;
      • Any kind of scratches, colour fade or damage to plastic surface to any of the cosmetic / external parts due to customer use;
      • External connection to a device: (1) not endorsed by THOMSON; (2) not fit for use with the product; (3) Not compatible with the product.
    3. THOMSON has right to determine whether a product is “Out of Warranty” at the company’s discretion according to the standards listed above. Repair of “Out of Warranty” products shall be separately quoted by the THOMSON service center. All additional related cost incurred

(without limitation to spare parts cost, maintenance cost etc.) shall be borne by the Buyer.

  1. For replacement of parts of the unit by the Service Center, this warranty will thereafter continue and will be applicable only for the unexpired period of the warranty. Time taken for repair and in transportation whether under the warranty or otherwise shall not be excluded from the warranty period.
  2. As per request from authorized service center/THOMSON, the costumer may be required to provide the Purchase invoice, other documentation or information related to product.

 

  • In the following events the warranty will be considered null and void:
    1. If the product serial number, or the warranty seal has been removed, erased, defaced, altered or is illegible, If any accessory or external part of the product is missing.
    2. Any terms contained in this warranty has been altered or modified in without prior written consent of THOMSON.
    3. THOMSON has not been notified by the consumer of the alleged defect or malfunction of the product during the applicable warranty period.

3 Other information

  • The preceding clauses only apply to THOMSON products (Laptop) sold in India.
  • Warranty services are applicable to models launched in India, which refers to the notices posted on the official website.
  • THOMSON is not responsible for any other commitments or offers that are not guaranteed by THOMSON and made by the seller to the customer.

General Terms and Conditions / Information

1. For a Customer to claim Warranty a valid Proof of Purchase (Original Invoice) will be required.
2. Repairs under warranty period shall be taken care by the company authorized Service provider only.
3.The details of service centers / support required are available at the company website

For any Promotional offer always refer company Website.

  1. Products outside the geographical reach of Service centre, we will advise the customer to walk into nearest Service Centre at its own cost to avail the warranty.
  2. Any kind of Customer calls registered with the call Center or Tollfree / Authorized Service Center, wherein only cleaning or dust in the parts are required /Software Issue (Reading/Installation), are not to be count as defects. The company does not undertake responsibility on the quality of software or unauthenticated software being used or installed by purchaser.
  3. For replacement of part/s of the unit by the Service Center, this warranty will thereafter continue and will be applicable only for the unexpired period of the warranty. Time taken for repair and in transportation whether under the warranty or otherwise shall not be excluded from the warranty period.
  4. The Company has a sole right in case of any damage to the product / misuse detected by the authorized service center staff, the warranty conditions are not applicable, and repairs will be done subject to availability of parts and on chargeable basis only.
  5. Due to any kind of unavoidable circumstances, the spares not being available, the company will offer Invoice value or alternate product to the end customer keeping the depreciated value of the product in mind.
  6. In case the company offers any kind of Promotional offers like EXTENDED WARRANTY. Period for any specific product model / period, it is the RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMET to get the warranty card duly registered with the nearest Authorized Service Center of the company within 07 Days of purchasing under such an offer, at the purchaser’s cost and risk only.
  7. Warranty on Tablet repair is on “Carry In” It means for service/repairs the customer shall bring the product to the Service Center with whom the set is registered for warranty service. The warranty does not cover cost of transportation of system from customer place to the Service Center.
  8. While carrying out repair, THOMSON may use third party accessories or parts that are new or refurbished or reconditioned.
  9. THOMSON under no circumstances shall not be liable for any kind of loss, cost, expense, inconvenience, or damage that may result from use or inability to use the product. And the damage in case will not be exceeding the purchase price of the product.

DOA / Defective Products – Policy

  1. In such case where the customer finds that a product is not functioning: upon opening of the Product from the Box within 07 days from the date of purchase only, the Customer may visit any THOMSON Authorized Service Center for due redressal/DOA Claim with product along with the original brand box, all in-box accessories and original invoice. (Valid Proof of Purchase)
  2. Product will be thoroughly checked at the THOMSON Authorized Service Center as per THOMSON approved parameters and policies. Post assessment and confirmation of genuine manufacturing defect, if any, by the THOMSON Authorized Service Center, the product may be replaced or in case of unavailability of stock of same or similar product, a refund or THOMSON product purchase, equivalent to the consideration paid by the customer for purchasing the product will be provided to the customer, as per company terms and conditions or sole discretion.

3) Product with Screen Pixel (TABLET) issue more than 5 will only be treated under Manufacturing defect and will be addressed under DOA Policy

WARRANTY NOT APPLICABLE IN BELOW CASE –

  1. In case the product is not purchased from an Authorized THOMSON sales Channel.
  2. In case the Product is Opened by any unauthorised Person
  3. The product purchased is not used according to instructions given in the INSTRUCTION MANUAL, or as determined by the authorized service center/company personnel.
  4. Any kind of Defects caused by improper use, as highlighted by the Authorized Service Center / Company Staff.
  5. Warranty does not cover damage due unauthenticated software use / unauthorised upgradation/ improper use of device and/or damages due falling, water damage, any unauthorized repair etc
  6. Modification or alterations of any nature made to the original product by the customer or unauthorised person will not be considered.
  7. Site (premises where the product is kept) conditions that do not confirm to the recommended operating conditions of the product. (Exposure to Water/Heat/Fire/Direct Sunlight for Hours)
  8. The original serial number is removed, deleted, or altered from the product.
  9. Defects due to causes beyond control like lightning, abnormal voltage, acts of God or while in transit to service center or to the purchaser’s residence.
  10. Any kind of defects at customer place (House, Office Premises from External sources)
  11. Warranty does not cover any third-party software, settings, content, data or links, whether included or downloaded in product.
  12. Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear (including, without limitation, wear and tear of camera lenses, batteries, Cosmetic Parts or displays).
  13. Warranty does not cover defects or alleged defects caused by any kind of third-Party products or accessories use. Any Defects that can be caused by viruses from your or from third party is unauthorized access to services, other accounts, computer systems or networks. This unauthorized access can take place through cybercrime, or hacking or other such act.
  14. In case of any kind of damage to the battery or cell by any kind of Short Circuit, tampering, broken, it will not be considered under Warranty

Company is not responsible for any such kind of direct or indirect loss as described below. a Any Third-party claims against customer for losses or damages. b Any kind of theft or loss of product.

  • Customer is advised to take back up for hard disk contents and Data before handing over the unit for repair. The Service Center shall not provide hard disk backup service for data backup.
  • In case of repair, hard disk contents may be formatted and customer will not be informed in advance. The company shall not be liable for any data, records or program lost due to repair.

In case of any Institutional, Govt or Enterprise Customer, warranty terms shall be applicable as per mutually agreed Terms and Conditions.
